Vrana wins 2013 Build Nebraska Award

The Associated General Contractors Nebraska Building Chapter announced and presented by Governor Heineman the 2013 Build Nebraska Awards on November 8. Vrana's Temple Israel Project was the winning project for over $15 million.

Temple Israel is a 60,000 square foot religious facility that is part of Omaha's new Tri/Faith development. The Tri/Faith development being built in Nebraska is widely praised in the national and local media. The building features include:

  • 900 seat sanctuary
  • 130 seat chapel
  • 8,000 SF social hall and kitchen
  • Six conference rooms
  • 4,000 SF community court
  • 15,000 SF of educational class rooms
  • 6,750 SF of office space

Temple Israel incorporates a complex low velocity mechanical system and finished materials rarely encountered in most buildings. The stone was quarried and cut in Israel. Aero Glass was used containing "aerogel" which is the lightest and best insulating solid in the world. Custom wood panels were made from imported European wood flitches.

The Temple Israel project was completed on time and on budget.
